Steam quietly drops 3 free downloads you've 1 week to claim

Time is running out

Steam has sneakily added a few freebies for users to claim, and there’s only one week left to do so.

As part of the latest Steam Fest, users have the chance to grab three promotional digital items to keep forever, including an animated avatar.

With each new event on Steam, there is often a collection of digital items available to collect, and while many players won’t look twice at them, there are some completionists out there who want to collect everything.

Now that Steam Racing Fest 2025 is here, players can get their hands on an animated speedometer avatar that features bold red and blue accents, all moving in time with the needle on the dial.

To compliment this, a new avatar frame in the same colours can be snagged, to match the avatar design, or elevate your own choice of image.

And, lastly, there’s a new animated sticker to use in Steam Chat, also showing a rapidly moving speedometer.

These are all available in the Steam Points Shop, but don’t cost anything to obtain.

Users have until 4 August to grab these, on top of plenty of discounts on some of the most popular racing games on PC.

This event is one in a long line of similar occasions of Steam celebrating certain genres of games, and each one comes with some hefty discounts.

So, if you’re a big racing fan, and you’ve had a few games on your wishlist, now is probably the best time to buy them, outside the big seasonal sales.

Everything from rally driving, Formula style games, and wrecking vehicles is included in the event, and they’re all either heavily discounted or feature demos and trials for you to get a taste of each title.

Why not grab the Steam Point Shop freebies to go along with whatever racing games you pick up?
