Steam has yet another freebie for you to claim, and this one is worth considering if you’re a fan of Hogwarts Legacy or similar magical games.

It’s been a big week for Hogwarts Legacy fans actually as it was recently announced the game would be getting official mod support, which basically means a never-ending stream of new content.

See the announcement of official mod support below if you missed it.

You can enjoy all the update has to offer right now, but if you’d rather wait and play something else before you dive back into the world of witchcraft and wizardry, Steam may have just the game for you.

It’s called The Fool’s Apprentice and as you may have gathered, it’s another game about incantations and spellcasting.

The rather long description for The Fool’s Apprentice reads: “A wizard academy management sim where you—an obviously benevolent professor—must manage & cast spells on your many apprentices so that they might study the right spells… and perhaps even survive the researching process. Some may die, but oh well, can’t save them all!”

If that doesn’t do it justice, the trailer and images on the game’s Steam page just might, as gameplay wise it’s basically like The Sims except you arguably have more power over your minions.

Of course, it has a bit of a Baldur’s Gate vibe too, but perhaps I’m just getting that from the camera perspective.

Either way, it’s free-to-play right now via a demo, and worth checking out if you’re into this type of genre.

If you like what you play and want the full experience, you will, of course, need to buy the full game, but there is a catch as it’s not actually out yet.

The Steam page claims it’ll launch sometime in Q1 of this year, which we’re currently in, so it'll likely release in the next few weeks.
