Forget Black Ops 7, this Free Steam Download is Taking the World by Storm

The next big FPS is here

The long awaited launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is on the way. But in the meantime, you may want to check this free game which captures all of the magic of the world’s biggest FPS.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to launch on 13 November, marking just three days until fans of the long-running FPS series can finally get their hands on the latest entry courtesy of Treyarch.

Expected to go head-to-head with the latest Battlefield title, Battlefield 6 - as well as their Warzone rival dubbed REDSEC - the two FPS giants will, well, battle it out later this week.

For now, however, you can leave the main battle to them and instead shift your attention to a similar release which is taking Steam by storm. Active Matter is an upcoming multiplayer FPS title developed by Matter Team and it now has a free download which you can check out now.

Team up with friends to embark on dangerous raids for loot or go head-to-head with other players in intense PvP battles.

This realistic military shooter set in a fractured multiverse will see you take the fight to unstable quantum zones as you try to control a substance that can bend time and space.

Adding a sci-fi twist to the FPS genre, Active Matter’s synopsis reads as follows:

“You’re an operative stuck in a time loop, always brought back from the dead to the same point.

"Choose your loadout and enter quantum unstable zones rich with active matter – the most valuable and the most dangerous resource in all multiverse. Fight against rivals from other timelines, survive physics-breaking anomalies and try to stay alive.

"Harvest active matter, gather loot and extract to a safe place before the whole zone ceases to exist with everything inside it.”

With the active matter having an effect on time and space, humanity itself has been irrevocably changed, especially for those who have been exposed to the substance.

Now that the whole world is a threat, it is up to you to survive.

Play now for free, download Steam demo

Active Matter is now available courtesy of a free demo on Steam.

Available until 23 November, players will be able to experience limited progression in up to 90 minutes of playtime in raids.

“Isolated raids and Nexus (PvP mode) are unavailable and the Monolith progression is limited by level 3.

You can also freely explore your base with unlimited time and uncover its hidden secrets,” the official Steam page explains.

Additionally, any progress you make will be saved and will carry over to the full launch of Active Matter.

So if you are on the lookout for an epic FPS with a sci-fi twist, make sure that Active Matter is on your radar.

Not only that but with a “mostly positive’ rating on Steam, it seems as though this demo is not one to miss out on.
