Steam releases 24 free downloads in hefty limited-time event

It's time to add to that growing wishlist

Steam is back with yet another event as PC gamers from across the globe gather to, well, push boxes.

Although many of us may have heard of the Steam Next Fest, it is worth noting that the PC storefront is also the host of plenty of other events throughout the year.

See an example of one of Steam's many Fests below!

With some aimed at showcasing indie titles and others putting the spotlight on certain genres of games, this current event does the latter and the theme this time around is quite niche indeed.

The Steam Box-Pushing Fest is now live and between 21 April to the 28, players will be able to explore this very specific genre by accessing games that fall under the category for free or at least heavily discounted.

Not only that but there will be access to demos of some upcoming games as a chance for you to try them out before adding them to your wishlists.

In fact, Steam has added an impressive 24 free demos for PC users to get stuck into so whilst we are here, why don’t we take a look at some standouts.

There is Bonfire Peaks, an indie puzzle game where you will get to set your belongings on fire on a beautiful voxel art island.

It is a story about closure and leaving nothing behind as you embark on your next journey in life so despite being a small puzzle game, it packs a lot of punch when it comes to its storytelling.

There is also Stick to the Plan and in this puzzle game, you will get to play as a dog who has an affinity for abnormally long sticks.

As a result, he has to plan his routes out strategically if he wishes to get around but better yet, to aid him in his search for the best stick of all.

You could also check out CursedSword, a Sokoban-style puzzle game where your attack grows with each move.

Bash into monsters, traps, and obstacles as you solve puzzles, face bosses in turn-based combat, and unlock power-ups in order to avenge your hometown.

All of these titles and many more are available for free right now courtesy of the Steam Box-Pushing Fest!
