Stardew Valley players unearths Easter egg added in game's latest update

We don’t need much of an excuse to pack everything up and get back on the bus to Stardew Valley – and that was before the new update.

Still, when an Easter egg we’ve not had the pleasure of discovering is shared by the Stardew Valley community, you bet all your gold star crops we’re going to get hyped about it.

Ever since the 1.6 update launched, the player count for this beloved cosy experience has hit an all-time high. And while that initial buzz may have calmed down slightly, there’s still plenty of farmers tending to their land.

We’re now on version 1.6.5 thanks to ConcernedApe tirelessly working behind the scenes to make sure our life in the countryside continues being idyllic.

With such toiling comes surprises like the “new secret menu” Easter egg.

How you trigger this is up for much debate, as it seems to be a random event. Nevertheless, while it could happen at any time, it’s a cute addition that long-time fans will appreciate.

“I got it once, like the second time I booted the game to start playing again after the update. Now I just get the standard gronk or squish every time, so it must be pretty uncommon,” shared a fan still uncertain what led to them being blessed so early on.

Another lamented over the randomness of this Easter egg, “I wish I knew what triggered it. My husband got it twice, and I've gotten it zero times.”

The mystery will continue. But with it comes the rare chance to glimpse this adorable occurrence.

For those of you who are looking for the next cosy game to play, a former Stardew Valley dev is said to be working on their own game, and it looks delightful.
