This incredible Steam game combines Red Dead Redemption 2, Dying Light, and a little bit of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag into one fantastic adventure, and you can play it for free right now.

Steam always comes in clutch with the freebies, whether it be a long list of free games you can download and keep forever, gift card giveaways or limited-time demos, there’s always something new on offer for those reluctant to spend their cash on the latest releases.

If I were you, I’d be saving some money for Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree, which drops later this year.

The latest freebie users can enjoy is If Sun Sets, an action-adventure RPG about being stranded on a desert island where horrifying monsters emerge when the sun sets. Players will need to forage for supplies and craft their own tools and weapons, ensuring they have a place to stay when it’s night time otherwise they’ll be overrun by creatures.

It’s equal parts Red Dead Redemption 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, with a similar nighttime danger mechanic to Dying Light and its sequel. It looks like a lot of fun, and the best part is it’s free to play right now for anyone interested.

The full game is yet to receive a release date at the time of writing, though it’s believed to release sometime later this year. For those eager to try the game as soon as possible though, you can play a free demo on its Steam store page right now.

This should hopefully give you an idea as to what the gameplay loop is like, and hopefully tempt you into a more permanent stay on the deserted island when the full game launches.

If Sun Sets will be available later this year, exclusively for PC users via Steam.
