Red Dead Redemption meets Dead Space in new open world horror

This upcoming Steam game is a tremendous open-world horror to play with friends, and we couldn’t be more excited.

This upcoming Steam game is a tremendous open-world horror to play with friends, and we couldn’t be more excited.

There’s nothing quite like gaming with your buddies, whether you’re going head-to-head on Call Of Duty 1v1s, aiming for that Victory Royale on Fortnite, or playing completely separate games but chatting about life on Discord.

Speaking of Fortnite, the battle-royale has kicked off its fifth chapter, which you can check out below

However when you find that one game you all enjoy, and end up playing for hours on end day after day, that’s where the magic is, and this Steam game looks like it’ll be just that.

Titled Once Human, this Steam game is currently unreleased, aiming for a launch sometime in 2024 but the promotional images and videos are making us wish it was here now.

Imagine the open-world exploration of Red Dead Redemption 2, with the dark, dingy, monster-hiding corridors of Dead Space, with a bit of Resident Evil sprinkled in for good measure. If you’ve imagined that, you’ve imagined Once Human.

The game’s Steam description reads: “Once Human is a multiplayer open-world survival game set in a strange, post-apocalyptic future. Unite with friends to fight monstrous enemies, uncover secret plots, compete for resources, and build your territory. Once, you were merely human. Now, you have the power to remake the world.”

Promotional content shows the teamwork in action, as players shuffle their way through a decrepit building crawling with horrifying creatures. The risk seems to be worth the reward though, as there are plenty of helpful resources to gather along the way.

It looks like it’ll take all of your fortitude to brave the open world, which is seemingly overrun with creatures straight out of an eldritch horror.

So far it’s looking good, but the gameplay could very well differ from what’s been shown up to now. That being said if the overall experience is consistent this looks like a stellar game to play with your mates online.

Once Human doesn’t have a specific release date as of yet, but it’s supposedly set to launch during Q3 of 2024.
