Combining the architectural prowess of Minecraft with the cosy exploration of Stardew Valley, this free Steam download is just too delightful to miss.

Developed by Galaxy Grove and available to check out courtesy of a free Steam demo right now, Town To City is an upcoming city builder which takes place in a 19th century Mediterranean town.

If you are skilled with a hammer thanks to your hours in Minecraft or just enjoy the cosy feeling of Stardew Valley, then you will love Town To City.

Players must build an idyllic town as they freely place and customise each element to create the perfect home for their growing population.

“Break free of the grid in Town to City: a cozy city builder that invites you to create a beautiful and bustling community,” the official Steam description reads.

“In story or sandbox mode, you're free to build at your own pace, placing each flower bed with pixel precision, or prioritise growing your economy and developing your town into a thriving city.”

Players will have the chance to grow their bustling town by placing houses, shops, amenities, and natural elements and who knows? Maybe word will spread and even more residents will arrive to make their home there.

However, as the population grows, so must your ambition as you will need to expand and create multiple towns that can co-exist together.

“Truly grid-less building sets you free to lay out your town however you like. Plan out carefully ordered rows of houses and city districts, or grow outwards organically with residences, amenities, parks and plazas connected by winding streets and alleys.”

Of course, your residents will not be afraid to request some help and the more you get to know them, the more you can sit back and relax and watch their family grow in a safe environment.

However, as with any town, you will need to manage its economy but luckily, you will be able to assign workers to jobs, research new buildings and decorations, and boost your once sleepy city into a bustling centre of commerce.

The Town To City demo allows players to try out the game, albeit with a content cap, before the full title at a later date.
