There is just under a year to go until we finally get our hands on Grand Theft Auto VI but fear not as this upcoming open-world title may just give Rockstar a run for its money.

Paradise is an upcoming free-to-play life simulation game with “limitless possibilities, realistic graphics, and enhanced AI” allowing players to access an “endless world and endless play”.

Developed by Ultra Games, Paradise is perfect for fans of fellow life simulation games such as The Sims but want that realistic edge that titles such as Grand Theft Auto VI are definitely going to offer.

That is because, unlike The Sims, players will be able to team up with friends to engage in shootouts, race cars, complete daily missions, and “reach the apex of life” as they earn money and buy everything from fancy clothes to stunning real estate.

“In PARADISE, we have recreated an entire island nation with every attribute of the real world, ranging from cityscapes with skyscrapers and bustling urban areas to serene oceans, beaches, and lush tropical forests,” the developers have shared.

“The game features different districts and natural zones, each meticulously detailed to enhance realism.”

As a result, the world of Paradise is populated with diverse NPCs, cars abiding traffic laws, vibrant shops, nightclubs, industrial properties and much more.

However, that is not all.

Paradise uses generative AI to allow NPCs to feel more realistic than ever.

As a result, you will be able to head up to any NPC and communicate with them using chat or voice.

Generative AI Warning

“They have real voices, emotions, and reactions to your actions, making them behave like true living people. Each NPC has their own backstory, job, and daily routine.”

If, like me, you do not support generative AI, you should be aware of this going into Paradise as this is definitely something that Grand Theft Auto VI will not promote.

However, with a realistic economy and in-game currency, it is clear that Paradise has tried to do something different with this life-simulation title.

Even if that means using GenAI.

Paradise does not yet have a release window and is simply ‘Coming Soon’ according to its Steam page.

However, those interested will be able to sign up for a playtest by selecting the option on the storefront.

Once selected, you will be contacted by the developers when the playtests go live.

So if you are interested in a life-simulation game ahead of the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, this could be the one for you.
