Combining the stealth mechanics of Assassin’s Creed with the setting of the Medal of Honor franchise, this free Steam download is guaranteed to offer you hours of fun.

Developed by AskaLot Games and new to Steam, Deserter: Prologue is a free stealth-RPG game which will see players need to use stealth, cunning and thievery skills to escape from a military camp in the heart of a dystopian war.

With a ‘positive’ rating on Steam already, Deserter: Prologue may just be an underrated gem as it requires the stealth skills of Assassin's Creed all whilst dealing with the military gameplay found in titles such as Medal of Honor.

This free, standalone chapter gives players the opportunity to get a feel for the bleak, dystopian world of Deserter by seeing them step into the shoes of John Holden, a soldier now broken by the horrors he has seen.

After witnessing things he cannot unsee, he only has one option left: escape.

However, with a time limit to beat, every second counts as you spend each night plotting your escape. To avoid death, you will need to avoid the eagle-eyed patrols, steal supplies, craft tools and even team up with your fellow soldiers.

Will you be able to make it out alive or just become another of war’s endless casualties?

In Deserter: Prologue, players can expect a unique mix of stealth and RPG elements all whilst having to work in the shadows to avoid all-out combat.

With atmospheric, lore-accurate environments set on both the front lines and a military camp, you can expect to find a grim dystopia filled with the humour and hope that can keep soldiers like John going.

Deserter: Prologue may be new to Steam but it is already making a name for itself with positive reviews flooding in.

“Deserter is a very intriguing RPG in war stylistics,” one positive review reads.

“It has very nicely designed cutscenes and an interesting story. The game's mechanics are very similar to This War Of Mine's gameplay mechanics: scavenging, trading, stealth.

While playing I was having a nice feeling of nostalgia. I love the simple style and nice visuals of the game.”

Deserter: Prologue is now free to play on Steam now.
