Far Cry meets Dino Crisis in epic new shooter

This looks rawr-some!

Far Cry and Dino Crisis collide in an epic new shooter that you can play for free on Steam.

If you’re a fan of Ubisoft’s Far Cry and Capcom’s Dino Crisis series and are on the lookout for a high-octane shooter that you can play for free, then look no further than the indie game developed by OMYOG, Ferocious.

Check out the Ferocious trailer below!

By the looks of the gameplay trailer, Ferocious takes inspiration from the first Far Cry game that was originally released on PC in 2004, a golden year in gaming which also saw the release of Half-Life 2.

What’s more, not only does Ferocious look to have something for Far Cry and Dino Crisis fans, but also those who appreciate the retro N64 shooter, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.

“Dive into Ferocious, an immersive, action-packed, old-school first-person shooter,” reads the description of the game on Steam. “Shipwrecked on a mysterious island that's overrun by hostile mercenaries and fearsome predators – dinosaurs. Outlive both man and beast in a relentless battle for survival.”

Ferocious promises stunning visuals, immersive gameplay, a dynamic world, customisable weapons and the opportunity to study some of the most dangerous dinosaurs in the game.

Of course, no matter how promising a trailer looks, it might not always be an accurate representation of the final product at launch. Thankfully, via the Ferocious Steam page, you can apply to take part in its playtest.

If granted access, this playtest will not only give you a taste of Ferocious but your valuable feedback could also help shape the direction of the game when it’s finally released.

At the time of writing, Ferocious does not have a release date but you can wishlist it on Steam to be notified of when that information drops. Of course, we’ll also keep you posted when we learn more.
