Dark Souls and Final Fantasy fans will want to check out this new game that you can play for free right now on Steam.

The ‘Steam Next Fest’ might be coming to an end with its new game announcements, discounts and free playable demos, but that doesn't mean that we can’t carry on checking out upcoming games that won't cost us a penny. After all, Steam is always packed full of discounts and demos.

In this day and age, with just about everything becoming more expensive, especially when it comes to our beloved video games, saving money whenever we can is vital. Despite recent price hikes, subscription services such as PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass can be very beneficial in that respect.

However, when subscription services just won’t do, we can always rely on the good old playable demo to not only provide some entertainment but arguably provide the best indications whether or not a game is worth parting with our cash.

We’ve all been tricked by a gameplay trailer for a title that looks amazing, only for it to suck when it’s released. Sure, a playable demo won't completely eradicate us wasting our money, but at least it offers some sort of try-before-you-buy assurance.

As brought to our attention by DSOgaming, one such game that we can check out right now is the upcoming free-to-play action MMORPG from ZhuRong Studio Sword of Justice, coming to Steam and mobile devices soon.

“Sword of Justice is sparking a rebellion against outdated RPG builds! This groundbreaking open-world MMO defies tradition with stunning visuals and an immersive, lifelike atmosphere that deeply influences the game world,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam. “Step into 'The Pulsing Martial World' and experience its breath-taking allure.”

Judging by its trailers, it not only looks like Sword of Justice could be a lot of fun, but it also appears to blend the visual charm of East Asian RPGs and, hopefully, challenging gameplay that might be inspired by FromSoftware titles with its dungeons.

Being a free-to-play MMORPG, our instinctive nature might be to expect the game to be plagued with pay-to-win microtransactions.

Yet, according to its description on the Google Play store, Sword of Justice will have “no pay-to-win” incentives. So I assume most microtransactions will be cosmetic. But we shall see.

At the time of writing, Sword of Justice is scheduled to be released on PC via Steam, as well as the Google Play and Apple stores on 7 November 2025.

You can enjoy its demo over on Steam now.
