Horror fans in need of a new fix may want to look at Cleaning House over on Steam.
Cleaning House is an action horror game with some truly twisted monster designs and atmospheric scares, inspired by the likes of Resident Evil and Doom.
Cleaning House begins with a simple premise. “Something is wrong with the hotel,” the Steam description teases.
“Once an ordinary building, it has become warped by a supernatural force, cut off from the rest of the world. Its halls stretch far beyond what should be possible, its rooms reshape themselves around the will of something dangerous. Those who enter are trapped inside, forced to confront both the creatures that stalk the corridors and the memories that refuse to stay buried.”

The game throws you into a series of first-person combat sequences where you must utilise a wide arsenal of weapons and enhancements, all with the goal of surviving whatever threats come your way.
Cleaning House is also a roguelite game in its core loop, with each run giving you a different experience. Every room is procedurally generated, shifting with every attempt you make. Likewise, you also get new weapons, buffs, and challenges available with every reset.
Developer Blue Light Studios has described the game’s combat as “fast and tactical”, a little similar to games like Doom or Killing Floor. It’s built around differing weapon types and upgrades, which allow you to make powerful builds.
Between each run, you can also interact with strange figures who are residing inside the hotel. These apparitions offer new upgrades for your weapons, allowing you to become stronger with every new run.
If you’re interested in checking out Cleaning House now, you can head over to Steam and download the latest version of the game.
