You can claim four free games on Steam right now, and one of those offerings looks like an absolute treat for fans of No Man’s Sky.

We all know that gaming is not cheap, whether it’s upgrading our PC rig, purchasing a brand new console or simply trying to keep up with all the latest releases.

As such, despite subscription services such as Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus continually getting more expensive, it's still a great way to play a plethora of games without having to worry about coughing up the cash for the latest release. However, sometimes we just want to play something that won’t cost us any additional pennies, especially when we’re short of cash.

PC Gamers, Claim These Freebie Steam Delights Today

As brought to our attention by the X (formerly Twitter) account, ‘Free Steam Games’, we’ve learned of four titles that you can play today at no cost, and it includes the aforementioned No Man’s Sky-inspired game.

Starmageddon, SAE Athens Labs

Developed and published by SAE Athens Labs, Starmageddon is an action game that takes us to outer space, and it’s the game for No Man’s Sky fans that has 100% positive reviews from the Steam community, at the time of writing.

Starmageddon is described as a high-octane, team-based shooter that you can play with friends. It kinda gives me Star Fox vibes too, which isn't a bad combination. “Dominate the battlefield through teamwork, split-second decisions and constant action,” reads its description on Steam.

The next free game is called Pixelords, developed and published by

BBokGames. This game looks like it could be a lot of fun, with its combat seemingly inspired by the indie sensation, Vampire Survivors. But what makes this game a little different is that you can deploy units to the battlefield.

“Pixelords is a pixel-art auto battler where strategy matters more than reflexes. Read your opponent’s composition, combine units and spells, and dominate the battlefield. Every battle offers a new strategy to master and a new victory to claim,” explains the description of the game.

The next game is one for horror fans, and it's called SCP: Mr. Jupiter, developed and published by AHISD Studios. This is a first-person horror game with an emphasis on mystery following a “catastrophic containment breach” that has unleashed the harrowing Mr Jupiter, who will relentlessly hunt you down.

The fourth and final game is called Chrono CCG, developed and published by

Infinite or Bust Games Inc. This is a sci-fi card-battling game, and judging by its trailer on Steam, it looks like it could be fun for fans of its genre. It’s a strategy-focused approach, and tactics will have to adjust on the fly to claim the victory. It does appear to have microtransactions, so it’s perhaps worth keeping that in mind.
