We have all seen at least one instance of Thomas the Tank Engine making his moon-faced way into our favourite RPGs in the course of our online journey. Most notably known for his appearance in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the brains behind the mod have now turned their attention to their very own RPG.

Perhaps the last thing you would expect to see when travelling the realms of Skyrim is the anthropomorphised fictional train known as Thomas the Tank Engine but thanks to one modder, that has been the case over several years. Trainwiz’ mod has been available to download to games such as Skyrim and Starfield but now the creator has turned their attention elsewhere.

Check out The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim gameplay below!

Underspace is an upcoming RPG by Trainwiz that has already launched in early access. The open-world “space arcade game dog-fighting game” features a star system crafted by hand with each one having unique activities to take part in. You will be tasked with entering the galaxy of Croft where you will be able to step into any role you want, whether solo or with friends.

Described as the “spiritual successor to Freelancer”, Underspace features a Lovecraftian twist and access to 70 star systems, 20 bosses ranging from monsters to pirates and a unique playthrough guaranteed for every player. With a main quest, side quests, PvP and multiplayer modes available, the space adventure is guaranteed to feature hours of gameplay.

If you are still not sold, an Underspace demo will be available during February’s Steam Next Fest.

It remains to be seen if Thomas the Tank Engine will be making an appearance but with Trainwiz’ crazy antics, we would not be surprised. With early access already available and a demo arriving next month, Underspace will be released in full on 10 April for PC.
