As one of the greatest video game stories ever told, it’s no wonder why fans are desperate to see Red Dead Redemption adapted into a TV show or film.

While some are sceptical about how well the game’s story and events would translate into live-action, many are still hoping Rockstar Games eventually makes it happen, and there’s even celebrity endorsement from Jack Black, who also wants to see a film made.

Rockstar’s publisher Take-Two Interactive has teased a film in the past, but as far as we’re aware, nothing is in development as of yet, except possibly Red Dead Redemption 3.

Nevertheless, the concept of a film has given fans plenty of ideas and inspiration to create their own takes on what a live-action project could look like. Recently we saw an idea for a TV show that was almost spot-on, and now we’ve got a spliced fan trailer for a film.

Posted to YouTube by Entertainment Media, the trailer features scenes from other Western films, along with some new voice-over lines recorded as the beloved protagonist of Red Dead Redemption 2, Arthur Morgan.

The trailer envisions the role of Arthur being played by none other than Mads Mikkelsen, which you’d expect to be an odd choice, but it kind of works.

Other live-action fan casts for Arthur include Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Brad Pitt, and Roger Clark, the character’s voice actor.

There are reportedly no plans for a Red Dead Redemption show or film anytime soon, but that won't stop dedicated fans from creating their own concepts of what one could be like.

As the series continues to grow in popularity, especially when Red Dead Redemption 3 inevitably releases, it may open the door to projects unrelated to video games.
