Red Dead Redemption 2 meets Minecraft in this impressive free download

If a mash-up of Minecraft and Red Dead Redemption 2 was on your 2024 bingo card, feel free to cross that one out.

If a mash-up of Minecraft and Red Dead Redemption 2 was on your 2024 bingo card, feel free to cross that one out.

In a weird way Minecraft and Red Dead Redemption 2 have a lot in common, as both are survival games where you hunt and forage for resources, you can build a house, ride a horse, and the comparisons tend to steadily fall off from there…

Check out Red Dead Redemption 2 below

Nevertheless you get the idea, and they’re also games that have been out for ages but still have a huge fanbase, which makes the below crossover no surprise at all.

One Minecraft player who was also a fan of Red Dead Redemption has built a Wild West town heavily-inspired by the Rockstar game, and the resemblance is uncanny.

Again there should be no surprises there, as players have been harnessing the potential of the blocky world-building game for years now, and have created some truly spectacular recreations of beloved media locations and characters.

So far the game has had crossovers with Lord Of The Rings, Marvel and DC properties, and several video game mash-ups like Halo and Super Mario.

The Red Dead Redemption town isn’t modelled after any in particular, but just looking at you can see the inspiration behind it.

Some commenters even pointed out that it could also be from the Fallout universe, and to be fair I fully see it as it gives off some major Goodsprings vibes from Fallout New Vegas.

Unfortunately there aren’t any NPCs knocking about, unless the builder spawns in some villagers to populate the area, and Minecraft doesn’t have a mechanic for throwing people out of windows in a bar fight.

Nevertheless it’s a cool recreation, and another example of how timeless both games have become, and likely will remain, over the years.
