Red Dead Redemption 2 gets free download and new content you've 48 hours to grab

Red Dead Redemption 2 Online players have more goodies to claim to celebrate Halloween, but you’ve only got a week to grab your freebies.

I feel a little sorry for Red Dead Redemption 2 players, GTA V Online players got a brand-new mode for Halloween that’s basically Undead Nightmare back from the dead, whereas all the Red Dead Online community are getting are clothes.

Take a look at the new GTA V Online mode below

It’s been the story of the online mode’s life as it’s never received the same support as its GTA V counterpart, probably because there’s very little you can add to a Wild West game that doesn’t break history in some way.

Rest assured though Red Dead Online players are getting something to celebrate Halloween with, including weekly freebies until 4 November.

This week from 15 October to 21 October, players who take part in the game’s Featured Series can win the red Strickland Boots.

It isn’t much, but it’s an honest reward and one you’ll probably unlock from playing the game naturally anyway so it’s worth grabbing.

Now if the online part of Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t your cup of tea I’m afraid there’s nothing else for you, as Rockstar Games doesn’t update the singleplayer part of the game.

That being said, fans are happy to do what Rockstar won’t, as there’s a wealth of mods to comb through that’ll add new content to your game.

For something a bit more spooky, there are apparently some mods that’ll secretly add full-on demons to the game, which will emerge from the shadows as the sun sets to attack you when you least expect it.

It’s nothing compared to Undead Nightmare from the first game, but it’ll do for the time being, Red Dead Redemption 3 better bring the mode back though.
