Oh my, oh my. This was wholly unexpected. HBO has just dropped our first official look at The Last of Us’ second season.

I will start off by saying that filming is still well underway, with the show set to premiere in 2025 so don’t go thinking that it’s going to be back on your screen anytime soon.

That being said, it is very kind of HBO to drop this small but welcomed teaser to tide us over until something a tad more substantial comes along.

In fact, this teaser has dropped just a few days after set photos leaked showing Bella Ramsey in action as Ellie alongside new cast member Isabela Merced as Dina.

Is this official look a way to draw the attention away from those unofficial sightings? It’s not out of the question.

Thinking about diving into The Last of Us Part II Remastered before the second season airs? Take a look at our review below.

It’s a bit too early for a trailer but HBO has released two stills from season two, one of Pedro Pascal as Joel and one of Bella as Ellie.

Pedro’s certainly sporting Joel’s longer Part II locks. In fact, it looks as if this photo shot could be taken from the Jackson dance scene.

Those who have played the game will know exactly what I’m talking about.

As for the image of Bella as Ellie, she’s wearing a coat which also leads me to believe this is from the game’s early Jackson segment.

Perhaps from when she’s checking out the supermarket with Dina?

We’re yet to get our first look at Kaitlyn Dever in action Abby but all good things come to those who wait.

Dever and the aforementioned Merced will be joined by Spencer Lord as Owen, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, and Catherine O’ Hara in an undisclosed role.

There’s no word yet on whether we’ll see characters Isaac, Lev, and Yara show up.
