The Last Of Us developer Naughty Dog has announced Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II documentary will premiere on 2 February.

The Last Of Us Part II Remastered released last Friday for PlayStation 5 users, and it’s been a smash-hit for everyone who decided to revisit the new and improved sequel. We gave it a 10/10 in our review which you can check out here, and for good reason as it packs in so much more content than the original release.

Added content includes the beloved No Return roguelike mode, some incredible lost level content, and of course some shiny new graphics that take advantage of the PS5 hardware, not that the game really needed it as it always looked too good to be a PS4 game.

Now to celebrate the remastered game’s release, Naughty Dog has announced a documentary detailing the game’s development will be released for owners of the game as a post launch update on 2 February.

Titled Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II, the documentary will provide an insight into the game’s development, game design, story writing and interviews with some of the talented individuals who helped bring the game to life.

The release date for the documentary was shared on Twitter via the official Naughty Dog account and has also confirmed bonus skins for Ellie and Abby will be available as part of the download.

For those who haven’t got a copy of the remaster yet, don’t worry, the documentary is also said to premiere on YouTube, but you’ll obviously be missing out on the new skins as part of the game download.

It'll certainly be an interesting watch for fans. It was supposed to arrive in time for the first release of The Last Of Us Part II but COVID-19 complications forced the creators to shelve the progress. Nevertheless, it's better late than never, and it'll shed some light on some of the more controversial aspects of the game's story, like Joel's fate and the introduction of Abby as a protagonist.

Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II will be downloadable for PS5 players on 2 February at 9am PT.
