Tomorrow will see the long-awaited release of Stellar Blade but after its embargo lifted yesterday, attention was drawn to some “unintentional” racist art included in the title.
It is no secret that Stellar Blade has already made quite a name for itself despite not even being out in the world just yet. With some fans criticising its '"heavily sexualised” main character, it seems as though developers Shift Up have quite a point to prove.

With embargo lifting yesterday and reviews flooding the internet, Stellar Blade seemingly defied the odds by reaching an impressive 82 critic score on Metacritic. Not only that but we at GAMINGbible enjoyed the action-adventure title and its similarities to well-loved titles such as Bayonetta, Devil May Cry and NieR: Automata.
In our review, we said: “Aside from all of the potentially-polarising outfits, this is an epic action adventure from start to finish that kept me engaged and wanting to come back for more. It doesn't do a great deal to reinvent the wheel but it doesn't need to. This gorgeous and fun game knows exactly what it is."
However, despite not getting its full release until tomorrow, Stellar Blade has already found itself in hot water after some reviewers noticed racist art on a street wall. The art sees the word “hard” sprayed in graffiti with a neon “R” situated at the end of it.
However, in a statement released to PlayStation, Shift Up explained that this was unintentional and would be fixed in the day-one patch. Since then, it seems it has already been removed.
"The placement of two graphics near each other in Stellar Blade resulted in an unintentional objectionable phrase," PlayStation's statement read. "Shift Up had no intention of creating offensive artwork and will be replacing the graffiti for the Day 1 patch."
Upon visiting the area now, players will see the word “hard” replaced by “crime” so it is nice to see Shift Up working quickly to remove any offensive features in the game.
