Red Dead Redemption looks set to make a mini comeback next month, but it’s one that’s already left fans of the acclaimed rootin’ tootin’ franchise livid.
The original Red Dead Redemption most recently landed on PlayStation 5 last year courtesy of a fresh port, which also included the Undead Nightmare DLC.
That port, however, was only launched digitally but it looks as if a physical version is finally on the way for all of you collectors out there on PlayStation 5.
While a physical version is yet to be announced by Rockstar Games, it has been leaked online by a Spanish retailer.
As spotted by Reddit user Almjdh, Spanish store Wakklap has seemingly opened pre-orders for a native physical copy of Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation 5.

It’s listed as launching on 7 May, so there’s only a couple of weeks left to wait if this date is indeed correct.
The physical copy won’t particularly offer anything the digital copy doesn’t, but plenty of us still like displaying physical copies of our favourite games on our shelves.
This version includes both Red Dead Redemption and the aforementioned Undead Nightmare DLC and is reportedly listed at €32.90.

That equates to around $38 or £29. Of course, pricing can vary regionally, so you should take this with a hefty pinch of salt until confirmed pricing arrives.
I would’ve perhaps expected Red Dead fans to be celebrating this small but significant new release.
Instead, however, they’re livid that Rockstar will, to quote one user, “do anything but RDR2 next-gen”.
Yes, somehow, Red Dead Redemption 2 is yet to receive a new-gen port on PlayStation 5 which would, in theory, unlock 60fps gameplay.
“Man, this is getting ridiculous. They are trolling us at this point,” remarked one disgruntled fan.
“We gonna get GTA VI before RDR2 gets ported to PS5,” added another. That feels like a guarantee.
“At this point, RDR2 current-gen might be released on the game's 10th anniversary in 2028,” someone surmised.
Well, at least we have this physical copy of Red Dead Redemption. How joyous, right guys? … Right guys?!

Here’s to hoping it’s just the start of Red Dead’s comeback, although with GTA VI’s marketing campaign likely to get underway in the coming months, I can’t imagine much else will be revealed that might distract from it.
