This leaked PlayStation 6 feature is something that will no doubt delight gamers across the world.
Having poured countless hours and offered up a part of my soul to Red Dead Redemption 2, when this news about the PlayStation 6 became known, I immediately felt a pit in my stomach.
Would all my progress be for nothing? I'm sure devoted fans of Bloodborne felt the same, another game that didn't receive a PS5 glow-up and can only be played thanks to backwards compatibility.
With the next-generation consoles in development, leakers have now claimed that the new PlayStation consoles will continue to support backwards compatibility, and it's music to our ears.
With new consoles, gamers always hold scepticism, having progressed so far on their current saves, especially those on PlayStation, whose catalogue of single-player games is spectacular.

But it's now been claimed that the PS6 will be able to host titles from the PS5 and PS4, giving players over a decade of titles to choose from before developers even begin to drop next-gen games.

According to the popular leaker, 'Moore's Law is Dead', the PS6 and its accompanying handheld console will continue to support older games.
"This document is years old, and it directly shows Canis [PS6 codename] backwards compatibility support. Another part of this doc literally says 'back compat' PS4, PS5.' Just says it right there," the leaker said on the Broken Silicon Podcast.
"I just want to leak this today: the PS6, yes, it has backwards compatibility to 4 and 5. They explicitly say it all over the place. Even the handheld, they explicitly say it runs PS6, PS5, and PS4 games." That being said, these rumours are unconfirmed, so they should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
What's most interesting about the leaks is that it's claimed those stone-age PS4 games will still be compatible with the PS6, making it the first major console to support three generations of games.
By the time the PS6 comes out, games like Bloodborne would be around 11 years old, released in 2015, but Sony has clearly noticed the impact that these staple games have within the gaming community and is prepared to put in the miles to bring them on the next journey.
As PlayStation prepares its next-gen console for its release soon, Sony is definitely doing right by its long-time fans.
