PS5 hidden feature is one I wish I'd known about years ago

Another top tip for fans

The PlayStation 5 is a complex bit of technology, and under its hood are lots of little options and settings to make your life a bit easier.

Sadly, many of them are missed due to the overwhelming number of options and menus to be navigated, meaning that many PlayStation fans won’t be aware they exist.

One of the best features of the console is tucked away, and it was brought to the attention of many by a helpful Redditor who laid out a bunch of tips and tricks for the system.

The top one on their list is the ability to use the HDMI link in the settings to turn other equipment on or off when you power up your PlayStation 5.

It kind of turns the console into an AV receiver, meaning if you boot up the PS5, your TV will turn on as well, saving you a bit of time and hassle.

If you’re someone who likes everything to work alongside each other, this is a handy feature to switch on, and it can be found in the display settings of the console.

The rest of the thread is filled with handy hints on better setting up your PlayStation 5.

One of the best tips is turning off trophy videos and screenshots as they can take up huge amounts of space if unchecked.

With each trophy unlocked automatically grabbing a screenshot, you could have plenty of storage sucked up due to this.

It’s worth noting that this thread is quite old now, so some of the information will be out of date as Sony updates the console so often, but the key point for the HDMI link still stands and is something I’ve implemented in the last couple of days.

It only saves a few seconds, sure, but it’s a nice feature to have.
