PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S get a chilling new horror shadow-dropped from the original creators of Little Nightmares.

In 2023, Tarsier Studios, the creators of Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares II, shared a tease for its brand new game, Reanimal. Then, when we got to see Reanimal in action, it became quite clear that the developer's taste for grotesque horror and tension is being taken to a new level.

The upcoming release of Reanimal will follow the underwhelming arrival of Little Nightmares III in October 2025, now developed by Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology and The Quarry studio, Supermassive Games.

It’s not that Little Nightmares III is a bad game, far from it. The issue is that, in terms of horror, world and creatures, it comes nowhere near the standard set by its predecessors.

Little Nightmares III was a bit, meh

“Little Nightmares III feels like a sequel in name alone. As a co-operative experience with either a friend, family member or partner, it’s a good time and should give you sufficient spooks and scares as well as a few laughs here and there,” said GAMINGbible’s Sam in his review.

“Visually, the game is on point with some gorgeous and intriguing settings, but they lack depth and get moved along too quickly.

"The story is the biggest drawback, though, and if you’re expecting a story on par with the first game’s, look somewhere else.”

Thankfully, despite the shortcomings of Little Nightmares III, Reanimal looks to be every bit the spiritual success that fans hope it will be. That being said, I believe it stands a great chance of being the best game from Tarsier Studios yet (hopefully, I’ve not just cursed it).

Reanimal to be released on the 13th of February 2026!

Reanimal looks horrific in the best way

Just like Little Nightmares III, Reanimal will be playable on your lonesome with an AI companion or with a friend, to share the burden of its nightmarish world.

In October this year, Reanimal dropped a demo on the PC platform Steam and understandably, this left many console gamers feeling very disappointed.

If you were one of those, then you’ll be pleased to know that Reanimal has a demo available now on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

On PlayStation 5, the Reanimal demo weighs in at just 4.3GB and 4.8GB on Xbox Series X/S, so unlike the horrific creatures in the game, the demo is at least kind to your storage space.

Reanimal will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on the perfect date of Friday, 13 February 2026. Spooky.
