Pornhub Battle Sees Xbox Lose Another Fight to the PS5

Whilst some wait for Spotify Wrapped, others wait for Pornhub's equivalent. And that is what has finally been released as of today (9 December).

The 2025 Year in Review is Pornhub’s version of Spotify's more innocent annual habits, shedding light on all of the searches that users have been putting in to that bar over the last 12 months.

According to Pornhub in an official blog post, the review 'opens a unique window into the ever-evolving desires, curiosities, and cultural obsessions shaping our world' and sheds a light on 'emerging trends, international shifts, and unexpected spikes in search behavior that transformed the adult landscape'.

So how does that relate to gaming? Well, as you can probably imagine, frequent Pornhub users are prone to searching for videos that centre around certain video games and their characters.

As a result, Pornhub has been able to rank the most searched for video games, characters, and even traffic based on particular game consoles.

Whilst we have already featured the video game which took the top spot this year as well as the specific character with the most hits, we can now turn our attention to the never-ending console war.

The Console War Heads to Uncharted Territory

That is because, to perhaps nobody’s surprise, both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 have come together to vastly outnumber Xbox when it comes to Pornhub searches.

To be exact, the PlayStation 4 saw 32 percent traffic, the PlayStation 5 at 66 percent and finally, the Xbox at a mere 2 percent.

That means that, from 2024 to 2025, Xbox saw a minus 69 percent (har har) decrease in traffic as opposed to the PS4 and PS5 which saw minus five percent and +11 percent respectively.

Once again, Sony has won the console war, even if it is on Pornhub.

But hey, celebrate the little wins alongside the more established ones, right?

I am sure Microsoft will survive this defeat, mind. But it does go to show the difference in PlayStation IPs as opposed to Xbox’s and the longevity behind purchasing habits in recent generations of consoles.

Maybe 2026 will be different but for now, Xbox has a lot of catching up to do when it comes to its dedicated gooning community.
