Uh oh, it’s that time again. It’s the biggest day in the gooning calendar.
Pornhub has launched its 2025 Year in Review, revealing the most, uh, pleasurable games and characters of the year.
It’s also officially the one day a year HR won’t be straight over to my desk because I accessed Pornhub. This year’s list of most gooned over video game characters is, unsurprisingly, predominantly female.
There is a new victor though, if that’s the right word. I doubt topping, ha, this list is something devs yearn for when they create these iconic characters but hey, you never know.

Chun Li Has Been Dethroned
Last year’s winner was Street Fighter’s Chun Li who has now fallen to third place.
Lara Croft remains in second with Overwatch’s D.Va holding onto the fourth place spot.
The new people’s champion though is Final Fantasy’s Tifa which I think is pretty expected given her enormous … assets. We all remember that infamous Tifa statue that dominated the internet in 2022.
Rounding out the top 10, we have Resident Evil’s Ada Wong and Lady Dinitrescu in fifth and sixth place, respectively, followed by NieR: Automata’s 2B in seventh, League of Legends’ Jinx in eighth, Overwatch’s Widowmaker in ninth, and Fortnite’s Ruby in 10th place.
I’m somewhat alarmed that Genshin Impact’s ‘Slime’ landed in 14th place. Aren’t they just blobs of goo? What is wrong with you people?!
Cyberpunk 2077’s Panam fared pretty well this year, raising 17 places, as did God of War’s Freya, climbing up the rankings by 13 places.
Devil May Cry’s Nero is one of the list’s very few male inclusions.
It also feels worth mentioning that Samus made the cut.
As for the most gooned over games, Fortnite has missed out on the top spot this year with Genshin Impact claiming the crown.
Marvel Rivals is a new entry which I am very much not surprised by.
Super Mario has risen by 14 places which raises some pertinent questions. Which character is it that’s got you all wahoo?
For the most part, it’s many of the familiar players staying in the mix here, including Minecraft, Overwatch, Pokémon, and The Sims 4.
Pokémon must surely be a hit with the furries?
Minecraft … I’m at a loss explaining that one.
Well, I’m going to go and ram my head into a wall to try and forget I ever attempted to analyse all of this … until next year when it’s time to do it again.
