PlayStation Plus Users Urged to Play "Addictive" Cyberpunk RPG Before it Leaves For Good

Make sure you get on this PS Plus title ASAP before you miss your chance!

PlayStation Plus subscribers are being warned to play this “atmospheric and addictive cyberpunk top-down RPG while they still can, because it’ll be leaving the service very soon.

Nine games are set to leave PlayStation Plus next month, and even though some big titles like WWE 2k25 and Cult of the Lamb are on the chopping block, PlayStation users only seem to be upset about one specific game on the list.

The funny thing is, as someone who has actually played this one, I’m kind of surprised that users are disappointed that it’s leaving.

Not because it’s bad– quite the opposite, in fact. I’m just surprised because I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone talk about it before now.

I am, of course, referring to the 2021 top-down RPG shooter from developer Neon Giant and publisher Curve Games, The Ascent.

If you’re a PlayStation owner and you’ve not heard of this one before, there might be a good reason for that, because The Ascent didn’t make its way to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 until March 2022, roughly nine months after it had already dropped on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and Steam.

Even though the hype around this one had mostly faded by the time it released on PlayStation, that has not stopped the overwhelming majority of commenters over on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit from recommending it to everyone who will listen.

“The ascent is absolutely worth playing, especially if you have a friend to couch co-op with. The premise and the world building is awesome,” commented user ohgeeLA.

“The Ascent is one of my favorite ARPGs this generation. Incredibly atmospheric and addictive, and man what a soundtrack!” replied user Deepspacechris.

“I might actually have to buy The Ascent next time it’s on sale. I actually bought the DLC and that was also awesome!” commented user Ghwardo.

Admittedly, it’s been a while since I’ve played this one, but I had a good time with it. The main thing that stuck with me is the soundtrack though, because it does indeed slap.

If you’re a completionist, then luckily you should have more than enough time to 100% The Ascent before it’s gone, as I’d say it took me about 20-ish hours to get through the whole game.

Just make sure you give it a go before it leaves on February 17th, because I highly doubt that this one will return to PlayStation Plus Extra in the future.
