The PlayStation Plus Extra tier May lineup is looking a little rough, at least according to a new rumour by service subscribers.
PlayStation Plus Extra, similar to Xbox Game Pass, regularly removes games from the service once their time is up. Usually, this is due to expiring contracts.
Publishers will essentially get their game onto the service with a commission fee. This enters them into a contract in which the game will stay on there for a limited time.
2025 marks the 20th anniversary of God of War.

Typically, that contract ends after about 12 or 24 months, then the game will be removed from the service.
Of course, publishers can also pay to extend the lifespan of the game on PlayStation Plus.
Now, PlayStation Plus users have seen the list of potential games that may be leaving Extra in May based on the time they were added, and it’s not looking good.
In May, PlayStation Plus Extra could lose the likes of GTA V, the Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy, and possibly even a first-party PlayStation Studios title.

While it's unusual for games to removed after only six months on the service, we should point out that Rockstar games typically don't last long on the service. So, it's very likely GTA V will be removed in May.
It’s also worth saying to take this list with a pinch of salt, although the predictions usually do end up being correct.
If you’ve been putting off any of the games on this list, now might be the best time to start playing.
