PlayStation Plus set to lose 11 games next month including popular 2020 RPG

Another sad day for PlayStation Plus, as 11 games are soon getting the axe, including some phenomenal RPGs.

Despite its best efforts, Sony is unfortunately failing to justify the price increase for its subscription service PlayStation Plus.

Check out the new PlayStation Portal device below.

The last few months of Essential tier free games haven’t impressed anyone. In fact, many have threatened to cancel their subscriptions until the quality of the service's offerings has been improved. Even new Premium features like cloud streaming have failed to keep players satisfied.

Then there’s the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium game catalogues, which seem to be losing a lot of heavy hitters, replacing them with mediocre titles like Gollum, which is one of 2023’s worst-rated games. Early next month, 11 more games will depart from the service, and it’ll be a real shame to see some of these titles go.

The full list includes: Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Caladrius Blaze, Damascus Gear: Operation Tokyo HD Edition, El Hijo: A Wild West Tale, Foreclosed, Friday the 13th: The Game, Legends of Ethernal, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and The Escapists 2.

Now I don’t think anyone is going to miss Friday the 13th: The Game, but it’s sad to see the two Yakuza games are on their way out. There was a time when all of the Yakuza RPG games were featured on the service, but one by one they all disappeared with Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and Yakuza: Like a Dragon being the sole survivors, until now.

If you’re not currently subscribed to PlayStation Plus, there’s a Black Friday sale on right now which will get you a membership of any tier for a discounted price. Unfortunately, users who are already subscribed can’t seem to take advantage of this offer themselves, adding to the frustration with Sony’s management of the service.

The games listed above will leave PlayStation Plus on 19 December, so there’s still time to play them before they go.
