PlayStation Plus subscribers can have their fill of one of the best and biggest open-world RPGs out there for no extra money.

The Assassin's Creed franchise, from Ubisoft, went to the shores of Greece for the second part of their RPG trilogy in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. It's a massive game that travels miles across beautiful landscapes; from volcanic islands and bustling cities, to lush forests.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a huge fan-favourite that brought epic legends to the franchise

Ancient Greece was a legendary destination for the series and brought so many new features including battles against Greek mythological characters. Taking place during the Peloponnesian war you'll trek between Athens and areas of Greece controlled by Sparta. There is danger everywhere.

Odyssey took fighting in a whole new direction, from stealthy encounters to large-scale fights with crowds of enemies. It also brought players the choice of whether to play as a male or female assassin - Alexios or Kassandra - which really opened up the series personality.

There's a great deal of depth to practically every aspect of the game; there are stacks of different weapons to wield, hundreds of quests to complete, a vast cast of characters to interact with and a mountain of lore to pick through.

If you've played any of the older Assassin's Creed games, you'll notice this entry is a huge departure from what came before. There are a lot of RPG elements that make it feel like a whole new kind of game, but worry not, you can still assassinate NPCs.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey takes all the parts that make the series great and combines them all together, sprinkling in some new options, creating an action adventure that can appeal to any and all. Even if you've never played an Assassin's Creed game before, Odyssey broke the mould in many ways to attract new players wanting to jump into this vast series.
