PlayStation Plus subscribers can play one of 2022's most underrated games right now

The ghost with the most

PlayStation Plus subscribers of the world: I'm begging you not to sleep on one of the catalogues most underrated free games.

If you're a PlayStation Plus Extra member, you have access to a vast library of 479 games (not to mention a whole bunch of free trials for some of the latest releases). That's a lot to wade through, and it's fair to say the quality doesn't remain consistent throughout.

Lucky for you we're here to gently nudge you in the right direction. You're so welcome. Did you know, for instance, that you currently have one last chance to play one of the best games of the last decade? Don't miss that one.

You should also be aware that one of 2022's most unfairly overlooked games is part of the PlayStation Plus Extra lineup, and I implore you not to sleep on it.

I'm referring to Tango Gameworks and Bethesda's Ghostwire Tokyo. Originally released as a PlayStation exclusive before making its way over to Xbox, it's a stunning open-world action/horror hybrid steeped in Japanese folklore. Dear reader, it is excellent.

The game's synopsis sums it up nicely, which makes sense given that's what a synopsis is supposed to do: "Tokyo's population has vanished, and deadly supernatural forces prowl the streets. Use an arsenal of elemental abilities to unravel the truth behind the disappearance and save Tokyo."

Ghostwire Tokyo blends first-person action and open-world exploration with a hearty splash of horror. Players explore a modern-day Tokyo that's been overwhelmed by deadly spirits. It boasts an excellent story, slick combat, and plenty of open-world busywork to keep you occupied.

While it's far from the most original open-world game you'll play, if you're looking for something comforting and relatively mindless, you could do a lot worse than Ghostwire Tokyo's stunning sandbox and checklist of supernatural chores.

Oh, and Ghostwire Tokyo is available on Xbox Game Pass too, so you're covered regardless of platform. Go check it out!
