It’s a sad day having to write this, but this is your last chance to play Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2 before they leave Playstation Plus for good.

Both of these games are praised by fans, though it’s undeniable that Watch Dogs 2 is an open-world sequel that some gamers have definitely been sleeping on. You only have to look on Steam to see numerous “very positive” reviews, with players appreciative of its “fun, realistic city” setting. No, it isn’t the greatest Ubisoft game of all time, but it’s still damn good.

Sea of Stars joins PlayStation Plus on 29 August.

We all knew the day was coming, not just that these games would leave PS Plus, but that Ubisoft would pull the plug on the franchise. Compared to the other IPs it has, which are far more successful and beloved, Watch Dogs isn’t popular enough to warrant more being made. At least not right now, that is – never say never, and all that jazz.

To make matters worse, these aren’t the only titles joining the last chance saloon of the PS Plus club, there’s also Deathloop, Chicory: A Colorful Tale, and Through the Darkest Times also on the way out as well. If you weren’t sad about Watch Dogs, we suspect you will be about Deathloop, as it’s been described as a 2021 gem of a game by players. Personally, I wouldn’t say it ever reached the heights that Dishonoured did, but it came pretty close, and is a Bethesda Softworks published title that no one will forget in a hurry.

If you want to play Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2 before they leave, the clock is ticking extremely loudly right about now. There isn’t long to go, and while we’re sad to see it leave, at least we know someone people will already own it and won’t need a subscription to keep its memories alive.
