There's no getting around the fact 2023 has been one of the biggest years for video games ever. In fact, I'd probably argue 2023 is the biggest year ever for top-shelf releases.

Just look at some of the games we've had over the last few months: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 absolutely slapped. Alan Wake 2 was incredible. Baldur's Gate 3 blew us all away. The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom was a banger. That's not even mentioning the likes of Super Mario Wonder, Sea Of Stars, and Starfield.

Believe me then, it pains me to tell you this, but there's a 2023 banger that you might have missed in all the excitement. The good news is that it's available via PlayStation Plus Extra, meaning it'll be free for many of you.

Take a look below!

Released back in March, the indie adventure Tchia rather got lost in the noise of a certain Nintendo game. But it's the perfect title to check out when things calm down, as it's a properly gorgeous open-world adventure that we awarded a 9/10 in our own review.

Tchia is a blend of The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Disney's Moana, inviting players to explore a series of island scattered atop a wide ocean and... explore. There's no real combat to speak of, just a focus on exploring, chatting to locals, and using your powers to leap into pretty much any object or animal in the game. Soar through the sky as a bird or roll along the ground as a coconut, it's up to you.

"Tchia is a game that forces you to embrace your connection with nature," we wrote in our review. "There are no cars or vehicles to be found here. Well, there may be one but it belongs to the game’s villain and I think that says all you need to know. Soul jumping into the island’s various creatures allows you to appreciate the archipelago’s beauty, especially if you're enjoying a bird’s eye view - because let me tell you, Tchia is quite honestly the most gorgeous looking game I have played in a long, long time."

So, basically, go play this game if you have a PlayStation Plus Extra subscription. Cool? Cool.
