A new PlayStation Plus free game is dividing fans, with some claiming it doesn't respect their time.

If you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber, there are plenty of games available on the service to get at no extra cost.

This is especially true if you are on the Extra or Premium tiers, which come with access to the Game and Classics Catalog.

With new games being added to the catalog every month, there will always be a fresh selection of new games to try out.

If you're on the fence about buying certain games, it can be an excellent way to try games at a low cost.

Blue Prince was added to PlayStation Plus Extra this month.

Now, a new game that recently hit PlayStation Plus is dividing some fans, despite the high praise from critics and content creators.

Blue Prince was added to PlayStation Plus earlier this month. Despite receiving critic scores which elevated it to the best reviewed game of the year, some players are struggling to enjoy what it has to offer.

Blue Prince is a roguelite game where you explore a mansion with ever-shifting rooms, with the goal of eventually reaching the hidden 46th room. It's a game that rewards patience and critical thinking as you try to overcome to the different puzzles each room in the house holds.

"Simply put, I don’t feel like it respects my time," one post on Reddit reads. "I don’t have much time to game, and the random elements can completely kill a run, after getting deep into it.

"I feel the amount of time I have to put in to get a small discovery is just not worth it, and the thought of starting a new run to put my new knowledge into action just isn’t worthwhile."

"I’m absolutely too stupid for this game," another post reads.

One player offered advice that Blue Prince is better when your only goal is to explore: "The problem the game has is that it really makes you think your goal is to get to that antichamber as fast as possible (especially with the trophy to do it in a day and an hour) but that isn't what you should be doing."

Blue Prince is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Subscribers to PlayStation Plus Extra and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can also play the game at no extra charge.
