Sony has teased PlayStation Plus subscribers with a bonus download for one of 2024’s surprise hits.

We’ve been blessed with fantastic PlayStation games this year, including Astro Bot, Silent Hill 2 remake, Helldivers 2, and more. However, one of the surprise hits to release in 2024 is a cross-platform title inspired by a popular tabletop RPG.

Check out the Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 trailer below!

The trailer above indicates that the game in question is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. Warhammer 40,000 has been around since 1987 created by Games Workshop and is known for its challenging and tactical tabletop gameplay and rich lore.

It also has some amazing miniature sets such as the Space Marines, the Orcs & Goblins, Skaven, Dwarves, Dark Elves and much more. The Warhammer franchise is no stranger to the world of video games, but this year Space Marine 2 might just be the best of them all.

In our review of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, we said: “The idea of galactic battles being fought by grunts has been realised with superb levels of detail. It’s not quite the game I hoped would tide me over until the next Gears of War, but it did enough to keep this Warhammer nerd very happy.”

If you’ve not had the opportunity to play Space Marine 2 and you subscribe to PlayStation Plus, you will soon be able to play the game for free courtesy of a trial. That’s as long as you subscribe to the PS Plus Premium tier.

At the time of writing, we don’t know how long the trial will last but it could be anything between 45 minutes to five hours. That being said, during the trial period, you will have access to the full game, trophies can be earned and your progress will carry over if you make the full purchase.

Speaking of the purchase, the base game is currently discounted by 20% bringing the price down from £59.99 to £47.99 in the PlayStation Store ‘Black Friday’ sales.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
