It appears that the PlayStation 5 Pro will soon be undergoing a small overhaul.
If you’re not familiar, Sony is constantly revising its consoles with each of these iterations known as a ‘chassis’.
For example, one of the early base PlayStation 5 revisions saw the console’s weight reduced.
The most recently released chassis, Chassis E, concerns the PS5 Slim Digital where the console’s storage was dropped from 1TB to 825GB.

It’s with this in mind that I point out that these revisions aren’t always particularly positive.
Early reports also claim that the aforementioned Chassis E has replaced the shiny black plastic elements of the PS5 with a matte alternative.
In order to identify which chassis or version you own or are looking at purchasing, you’ll need to do some research in order to find the model number.
As I said, it appears that the PS5 Pro is the next console in line to be tweaked.

This leak comes from Graczdari via PPE.
While I have to urge you to take this news with a pinch of salt, Graczderi did recently leak the PS5 port of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 correctly as well as the physical versions of The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered.
They claim that the new PS5 Pro will use around 3% less power than its predecessor.
There’s no word on how this might be achieved, nor what model number the chassis will be identified by.

Still, this is great news by the sounds of it; anything that cuts down on energy consumption can only be considered good.
Graczderi went on to add that a new DualSense controller is reportedly also on the way.
This would be the third mainline iteration of the DualSense with it being claimed that the model features a removable battery.
The DualSense is believed to go on sale in November where it’ll supposedly be bundled with new versions of the PS5 Pro.

I’m sure once existing stocks are cleared, it’ll also become the de facto version you can purchase standalone.
It’s great to see Sony and PlayStation still working so hard on improving PS5 hardware when the next-gen is reportedly only a few years away at most.
Fans of the blue brand seem to be feeling hopeful following the leak.
“Removable battery seems cool,” wrote Reddit user Ornery-Tonight1694.

“I hope that rumour about DualSense V3 is true. That's the best thing from an Xbox controller. Sony will surely sell their own rechargeable battery pack,” added SyntacticSyntax.
“Makes sense that they're looking for as much efficiency as they can with a handheld coming out in a few years,” commented jumper62.
“Cool I guess, but... doesn't sound like it's getting any cheaper,” remarked soragranda, making a good point.
We’ll keep a close eye on further developments regarding these two potential revised products.
