The decision to remove a major exclusive from sale has infuriated PlayStation gamers.

It could be argued that it doesn’t take much to upset gamers. However, when it comes to this curious decision made by PlayStation, we have to side with gamers here and say it’s a controversial move to make.

If you recall, just over two weeks ago, Sony revealed its plans to remaster Horizon Zero Dawn.

Although it’s a gorgeous game, one that's still widely praised, it felt like an odd choice for PlayStation to make when Bloodborne fans have been crying out for a remaster for years.

As you’d expect, Bloodborne fans were furious about the announcement.

To make matters worse, with the upcoming arrival of this remaster, PlayStation has decided to remove Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition from sale.

Just visit its Steam page and you’ll see a pre-order option for the “remastered bundle”.

On the PC gaming subreddit, pizza_sushi85 also noted that the title isn’t available via the Epic Games Store either.

By removing the original game, players will now struggle to access the remaster when it launches on 31 October.

This is because the remastered version will require its players to sign in using their PSN; it’s a decision that’s faced backlash before and will likely continue to do so.

The biggest issue for many gamers is the fact that the PlayStation Network isn’t readily available in some countries.

Consequently, many will be unable to play Horizon Zero Dawn.

In the words of Nazenn, “Bullshit sales tactics puts me off buying it entirely.”

They’re not alone in feeling this way.

Fortunately, not all is lost, for GOG still has the game on sale thanks to its “no activation or online connection required to play” stance.

This “scummy” behaviour from PlayStation has left fans feeling disenchanted, and could end up impacting the sales of the remaster when it releases.

We’ll have to wait and see if Sony’s profits are damaged by quietly pulling the game from sale. Even if that doesn’t happen, its reputation with its fans has definitely been impacted.
