If there is one thing Sony loves, it is a crossover and one of PlayStation’s newest titles may have just hinted at the return of a long-forgotten franchise.

At the moment, it seems as though everybody and their movie are diving into Sony’s latest big release: Ghost of Yōtei.

As the highly anticipated sequel to 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei was released earlier this month and has already cemented itself as one of 2025’s best games.

In his review, our very own Richard Lee Breslin called it “a powerful revenge-driven tale”.

“Ghost of Yōtei is pure cinematic brilliance, and Sucker Punch Productions deserves to be commended once more for knocking it out of the park and, in some ways, topping its predecessor,” he wrote.

Alongside praise for its expansive and beautiful open-world, multi-dimensional characters and gameplay improvements, Ghost of Yōtei is also making headlines for one other reason.

Its nod to other Sony titles.

Spotted by Toasty and DomTheBomb over on Twitter, an interesting piece of art can be discovered throughout the Ghost of Yōtei’s world and some fans may just find it quite familiar.

Although some people originally thought it was a nod to Avatar: The Last Airbender, others soon realised that it is actually an Infamous 2 Easter egg.

Released back in 2011 and also developed by Sucker Punch Productions, the second instalment in the Infamous franchise has made a big return in the year 2025.

Let us face it, it has been a while since we have received news of the Infamous franchise since its latest entry, InFAMOUS Second Son, was released way back in 2014.

However, many believe that its appearance in Ghost of Yōtei may just hint at the revival of the series or maybe it is just Sucker Punch paying tribute to another incredible game.

Whatever it could mean, it has got fans feeling excited and they took to social media to share their thoughts.

“My favorite game really needs to come back bro,” one user shared.

“I played both Infamous games back in the PS3 era non-stop.”

Another added, “I REALLY hope they return to this franchise. Whether it's a new game or remastered 1&2, Infamous is SOOOOO good!” whilst another simply said, “Peak referenced.”

It remains to be seen if this is a harmless Easter egg or if it could hint at the future of Infamous but it is safe to say that fans will be over the moon to see the beloved franchise make a return.
