PlayStation is handing out refunds for a new game that isn’t meeting its standard of quality just yet.
I'm sure I don’t have to explain to PlayStation users how rare it is for the company to hand out refunds. If you purchase a game you’re not a fan of, even if you’ve played it for just five minutes, you’re usually ineligible for a refund.
Just the act of installing a game onto your console means you can’t get your money back.
However PlayStation will make exceptions, for instance Cyberpunk 2077 saw refunds en masse when it first launched due to all the game-breaking bugs and general lack of quality.

Now refunds are being offered for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 as a direct bit of interference from publisher Paradox.
Players are unhappy with the game as it’s been accused of ripping out existing content and redistributing it as paid DLC, prompting Paradox to take action.
The official account for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 recently made a post addressing the negative reaction from fans, and announced its plans to make changes to the game to better please everyone.
“Hi, we’re making adjustments and will share the details on Sept 17. Big changes take time, and we want to do this right,” the post began.

“PS Store pre-orders will be refunded on Sept 8. You’ll be able to pre-order again before launch on Oct 21. Thanks for your patience; we’ll share more soon!”
It’s a great start and hopefully the upcoming changes ultimately lead to a better game, and it’s good that PlayStation is playing along and allowing refunds as well.
However in a world where games like Hollow Knight: Silksong exist it’s a bit irritating to see practises like this still going on, especially when there are so many case studies on what not to do when making a game.
