If you’re not yet making use of PlayStation Stars, then I urge you to change that.

PlayStation Stars allows PlayStation users to earn points which, eventually, can be exchanged for store credit.

You can also exchange those points for digital collectibles, game currency, and full-length games, but you’ll be getting a better deal if you opt for the store credit.

When you reach 1,250 points, you can nab £5 worth of credit, which is a nice little helping hand towards your next purchase.

Users will earn points on all PlayStation Store purchases, as well as via completing PlayStation Stars campaigns which typically task you with playing or purchasing certain titles.

Previously, you’d also earn points on PS Plus subscription costs too, but that’s unfortunately being phased out.

I’m miffed because that always gave me a nice boost.

If you’re someone who prefers physical games, like me, you’ll likely accrue points much slower than someone who’s splashing the cash on digital purchases.

In that case, you’ll likely be far more reliant on those aforementioned campaigns.

Typically, campaigns reward you with a 50 point boost but that wasn’t the case with one recent example.

LEGO Horizon Adventures launches later this year. Hopefully, the game’s release date will be confirmed soon.

Each month will bring a ‘Your PlayStation Plus Monthly Games Await’ campaign where PS Plus users can simply load up one of the listed monthly titles to bag 50 points.

That wasn’t, however, the experience of Reddit user lehmonz.

“Is this intentional? I couldn’t believe my eyes … 500 points for just downloading the monthly game and booting it up?” they wrote, with an accompanying screenshot proving the jackpot reward.

By the sounds of it, this is a randomised glitch.

“Showing as 50 points in mine,” replied odupike599.

“I noticed this myself, and I live in Scotland. I completed it as soon as I could, and I was surprised to see it did actually award me 500 points,” added DaedalonVII.

“I got a 500 point reward for the September monthly games and my buddy had the same exact one but for 50 points. IDK what’s good but I’ll take it,” commented Skinner_sweet35.

Even more so than usual, it’s worth keeping an eye on PlayStation Stars. Grab those 500 points if the opportunity ever arises.
