PlayStation gamers can download a game at no extra cost, and it looks to be one for fans of Starfield and Minecraft.
It doesn't look like Bethesda’s Starfield will be arriving on PlayStation 5 anytime soon. But saying that, with the likes of Forza Horizon 5 already available on the Sony console, and with Gears of War: Reloaded on the way, hopefully, it’s only a matter of time.
In the meantime, to get a snippet of that Starfield fix, this PlayStation game, that has a hint of Minecraft and also No Man’s Sky, might be your cup of tea.

The game in question is the action-adventure crafting title Cubic Odyssey, developed by Atypical Games and published by Gaijin Network Ltd, which currently has a “Mostly Positive” review rating on Steam.
“Cubic Odyssey is the little oddball of 2025, kind of a mix between No Man’s Sky and Minecraft. It’s a fun, well-made game that captures the spirit of classic Minecraft but with a cool sci-fi twist,” said Steam user Mr.Griffin.
“Step into a boundless open world where every planet, every system, and every moment is yours to shape. Explore a universe rich with life, ancient mysteries, and untamed beauty,” reads the description of the game.

“Fight back the Red Darkness menace as you mine resources, craft tools, weapons, and build vehicles that are essential for your odyssey. Collaborate with friends to battle colossal threats and bring hope to the galaxy. Adventure, creation, and survival await!”
If Cubic Odyssey might tickle your fancy and you subscribe to PlayStation Plus Premium, you can download its two-hour trial right now at no extra cost.
Should you decide to purchase the full game, then not only will all earned trophies carry over, but so will your progress.
It’s also worth mentioning that Cubic Odyssey has a free demo available to download now via Steam, which, of course, requires no subscription.
