PlayStation confirms comeback of beloved PS1 series

Return of two legends

PlayStation fans are welcoming back a beloved pair of PS1 games, both of which can be played at no additional cost depending on your current PlayStation Plus subscription.

PlayStation Plus got some bangers added to it this week thanks to PlayStation’s Days Of Play event, an annual celebration that gives users freebies, deals and other things worth shouting about.

Or at least the announcement of some bangers, with certain titles set to arrive in the coming days.

This year has been a pretty mixed bag, all things considered, with the new PlayStation Plus Essential games being pretty average, with other titles on the Extra tier bringing it back slightly.

PlayStation Plus Premium got some new Game Trials to play but what we’re talking about today is more retro, specifically two games joining the classic library.

Myst and Riven both return to the PlayStation Store next month and can be played at no additional cost if you’re subscribed to PlayStation Plus Premium.

If you’re not currently subscribed to that tier by the way, there is a sale on at the moment for the subscription service, so you’ll be able to upgrade at a reduced cost.

Myst and Riven are both point-and-click puzzles games, great ones too, filled with mystery and serene scenery.

They might feel a little dated by today’s standards but, in my opinion, they hold up fine, and they’re worth a go if you’re into retro games like I am.

You’ll have to wait just a little bit longer though, as both games are set to drop on 5 June, only a few days away so that’s not a big deal.

I’d advise you to keep checking in on your subscription this week and the next, as PlayStation is staggering the release of the Days Of Play additions so there’s going to be a lot of new stuff to play being added to your library over the next few weeks.
