PlayStation officially makes PS5s much cheaper to buy

If you’ve been holding out on joining this generation of consoles, Sony is making it more tempting than ever to jump in.

You can now buy a PlayStation 5 console directly from Sony, much cheaper than previously, as long as you don’t mind having a refurbished model.

Currently, refurbished PS5s are selling for £389.99 and are described by Sony as “a product that works like new with genuine PlayStation replacement parts (as needed) that has been thoroughly cleaned, inspected and tested.”

These PS5 consoles will include a disc drive and are all fully checked out and repaired or given some love by Sony themselves.

If you have any worries about the quality of the console, you should be able to rest assured.

Everything is included as Sony confirms that “All Certified Refurbished products will come with the necessary accessories, cables, and manuals.”

It’s not just the consoles either, Sony are also offering refurbished DualSense controllers, perfect if you need a spare.

“All PlayStation Certified Refurbished products are packaged in its own branded Certified Refurbished packaging and will be sent to you with the 1-day express or 2-day standard shipping options available on PlayStation Direct.”

It’s a great deal, and a great way to get into this generation if your budget is tight. When you pair this with a PlayStation Plus subscription, you’ve got access to hundreds of games right out of the box.

If you’re at all worried about these consoles going wrong or breaking, they do come with a 12-month warranty.

Now you can play some of the best games of the past couple of years including Sony exclusives like the superb Astro Bot, or the wonderful, if bleak, The Last of Us series.
