Issues with the current generation aside, attention from the masses has now firmly turned towards what's coming next, namely the PlayStation 6 (assuming Sony doesn't break the naming habit of a lifetime).
Legendary game developer Hideo Kojima has now added fuel to that fire by revealing more about the next project from himself and his studio Kojima Productions, Physint, an entirely new IP that could now technically count as the first officially confirmed game for the console.
Kojima describes the upcoming project as the next step in tactical espionage action games, which will immediately make fans of arguably his magnum opus, Metal Gear Solid, come over all funny.
Production is still in its very early stages, with most of the team still working on Death Stranding 2's post-release cycle, so we know very little about what it will actually look like. The only thing we did get was a quick look at a poster for the game with the tagline "here comes the feeling," though at this point that means less than nothing to me. We also got a look at some beautiful screenshots.

Over on Reddit, fan reaction to the poster was all over the place, with the lack of information about what it actually is only furthering the chaos.
"I’d love Kojima to do a straight forward action game with all of his idiosyncrasies again like MGS1. Obvs I want the same level of weirdness as we got in that game, but I’d really love a 5-10 hour experience with all of the tiny, fourth wall breaking details he loves to put in," one said.
"Kojima doesn’t just drop a game, he drops an experience. This poster alone feels like it’s hiding 5 layers of lore I won’t understand until the credits roll," another added.
A third shared that opinion, saying, "Every time Kojima drops a poster, it feels less like marketing and more like an art exhibition. Can’t wait to see what kind of mind-bending narrative bro is cooking up this time."

Others pointed to the likely development time needed before we actually get the game, as a reason that everyone should calm down. "This game is still so far out....... So pointless! In a May 2025 interview with French magazine Le Film Français, Kojima stated that the game, still in its early development phase, was expected to require at least another five to six years of work before completion," one said.
Whatever the case may be, it's always a great day when Kojima announces a new game, we'll just have to sit tight for more concrete information on the release date.
