It’s something we’ve suspected for quite some time, but Hideo Kojima has just confirmed that his PlayStation-exclusive Physint is set to be a PS6 title.
Hideo Kojima is easily one of the most beloved figures within the industry.
Alongside the likes of Josef Fares, Neil Druckmann, Sam Lake, and Shigeru Miyamoto, Kojima is one of the modern greats whose name many will instantly recognise.

Of course, it’s for his incredible back catalogue that we love him, from his work on the Metal Gear series to this year’s highly anticipated Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
I’d be lying though if I said Kojima’s ‘building the game’ posts and strange friendship with Geoff Keighley didn’t also bring me joy.
The auteur is, as I mentioned, preparing to launch Death Stranding 2: On The Beach this June.
Beyond that, Physint is one of Kojima’s next titles.

Previously, Kojima described the game as being for the “next-generation” and has just reiterated that the game is still five to six years away.
Will you be picking up Death Stranding 2: On The Beach?
Physint remains very mysterious; we know that it’s an “action-espionage” game, but that’s about it.

When the game was unveiled in January 2024, Kojima revealed that the game would be made using “cutting-edge technology and the best talents from around the world, both from film and video games”.
He referred to Physint as an interactive game, but added that “the look, story, theme, cast, acting, fashion, sound, etc are all at the next level of digital entertainment that [it] could be called a movie”.
Yeah, I’m not entirely sure what that looks like in practice either. I can add that the game’s reveal seemed to signify a partnership with Columbia Pictures.
Well, as reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, Kojima has now opened up about the game again.

Kojima told Le Film Français (translated), “I’ve had so many offers since I left Konami, with serious conditions to develop games in my independent studio. Besides Death Stranding 2, there’s also Physint in development. That will take me another five or six years.”
That suggests that Physint will launch in 2030 or 2031. For comparison, next-gen consoles are expected to arrive in the next two years, so it sounds as if Physint will arrive pretty deep into their life cycles.
Don’t forget that Kojima is also working on the Xbox exclusive horror OD alongside writer Jordan Peele.
There’s no word on when that game might come to light again.
