PlayStation 5 gamers can check out open-world RPG free for next 72 hours

No PlayStation Plus required

Are you excited for Monster Hunter Wilds?

If you answered that question with an enormous resounding “yes”, then you’re in the right place.

The Capcom RPG is due to launch on 28 February, but you can actually get your hands on the game right now for a limited time.

That’s right, another playtest is about to get underway.

The beta test is available worldwide, but I’ll detail the start and end times for both the US and UK.

If you’re in the US, the beta test kicks off today, 6 February, at 7pm PT, ending on 9 February at 6.59pm PT.

For those of you in the UK, that means that it’ll kick off at 3am GMT tomorrow on 7 February, ending at 2.59am GMT on 10 February.

The beta test is open to everyone on PlayStation 5, you do not need a PlayStation Plus subscription - and I should also add that it’s available across Xbox Series X/S (no Game Pass needed) and Steam too.

You’ll be able to choose from both online single-player and private lobbies during the test, so you can either venture through the Forbidden Lands alone or with friends.

Monsters Arkveld and Gypceros will also be available this time around, as this is the game’s second beta.

In fact, a Slaying Quest for Arkveld has specifically been added for the test with a high difficulty, if you feel brave enough to take it on.

There’ll also be a training arena available, as well as the content from the original beta which includes character creation, a story trial, and a Doshaguma hunt.

To join, simply download the beta from the PlayStation Store.

If you miss out, don’t worry as a second testing period is just around the corner.

That’ll run from 13 February at 7pm PT to 16 February 6.59pm PT in the US, and 14 February at 3am GMT to 17 February at 2.59am GMT in the UK.
