PlayStation is often rolling out new updates for players to take advantage of new features and setting applied to the console.

We’ve got a new feature to tweak and play around with in the latest firmware update and it’s all about the sound.

Are you jumping back into No Man's Sky since the new update has overhauled the experience?

This option is specifically for players who use headphones or earbuds for the 3D audio functions of the console.

You can now take advantage of several audio profiles to personalise the technology to your tastes. If you want more bass, or fancy pushing up the treble, you’ve got options.

All you need to do is head into your console settings, find the options for sound, and play around with what you think sounds best.

Being able to tweak individual elements like this is great for everyone. If you play particular genres and want a more tailored experience, then have at it.

It’s even great for accessibility too. Players can now experiment with what sounds best to their hearing, especially if they suffer with any hearing conditions that may impair the delivery of the sound.

You should be able to jump onto your PlayStation 5 right now and see this update applied.

Also, as part of this update, you’ll find small improvements to remote play, as well as ‘adaptive controller charging’ though this is only available to owners of the PS5 slim, for some reason.

Once you’ve updated your sound preferences, why not try out some great games in the PlayStation Plus catalogue to see how the sound profiles have changed?

We recommend trying out a shooter and a horror game to really see how your headphones deal with louder explosions and gunshots, or the low-level sounds needed for creeping past enemies.

Sony is always improving your consoles, so be sure to check for console updates if you don’t have them applied automatically.
