How many predictions did you make correctly ahead of last night’s State of Play?

I did pretty well, but there is one project I was almost certain would be there that failed to make an appearance.

In around one month's time, it’ll be a year since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released.

My question is this: When is that DLC due to drop Insomniac?

I truly thought last night might bring a DLC announcement, especially as it only took a few months for the OG’s Marvel’s Spider-Man’s DLC content to release.

There’s also the fact that it’s been quite clearly teased.

Carnage is possibly set to appear - the character being set up in ‘The Flame’ side quest line - although whether that’s in DLC or a Venom-esque spin-off, we don’t know.

A previous leak also hinted towards Beetle as appearing in a possible expansion.

Relive the magic of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 below.

It could be the case that DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been canned, but that just feels wholly unlikely.

Perhaps it’s slated for a The Game Awards reveal? Whatever the truth is, we know for certain that it didn’t surface in last night’s State of Play despite many of us assuming it would.

That led to some understandable disappointment from the game’s fanbase.

“It’s never been more over,” wrote Reddit user jaccw16.

“I've accepted the fact the DLC is cancelled because Insomniac was just unmotivated about the hacks and the fans demanding DLC and harassing the devs. I think they just said let's just straight up cancel it,” said a concerned GamerMetalhead65.

“Inhales hopium, it's not over yet. There's still a chance at The Game Awards,” added SpyroManiac36.

I’m going to hold on to a similar level of optimism.

It could just be that things were delayed following the leak as Insomniac focused on rebuilding up its security infrastructure.

Like fans pointed out, we still have The Game Awards and the game’s actual one-year anniversary to come.

It’s not over until it’s over.
