Marvel's Spider-Man 2 free update dropped by PlayStation

Alright, that's cool and all, but where's my Venom DLC?

Sony just released a brand new patch for Insomniac Games’ latest title Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but has it addressed all the issues fans have been begging them to tackle since it first dropped?

Thank you in advance to Dark Side of Gaming's John Papadopoulos for the original source!

The PC port of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 released to less-than-stellar reviews back in January.

While most users were more than happy with the actual content featured in the game, the performance was pretty abysmal (to say the least), and the Steam reviews at the time very much reflected that.

So now, almost three months after its initial release, is the PC port of the game faring much better?

Well, according to the recent 84% “Very Positive” Steam reviews, yes, and Nixxes Software’s tireless attempts to improve its performance are doubtlessly the reason why.

The latest stability-focused improvements that dropped in Patch 8 over the weekend seem to be targeting some simpler fixes however, which is probably a good sign that most of the bigger issues with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s PC port have already been ironed out.

The biggest improvement in the new patch targets "improved performance in areas with trees", which, from what I remember, is a pretty sizeable chunk of the game.

There's also a pretty big one as far as crashes are concerned, as Patch 8 also fixes the crash "that could occur when exiting the game during vehicle chases”. Although maybe I only think that’s a big one because I remember encountering that one a few times myself.

If you’re curious about the entire patch list, Nixxes Software revealed all of the changes in a news post over on Steam.

Now, where’s that Venom DLC that leaked a while back? We’ve not forgotten, Insomniac. I wanna destroy New York as my big gloopy alien symbiote boi.
